Procession of the Cosmos/Procession du Cosmos: (Drum Beat)

Heart pulse on drum/un battement de coeur (tambour)

Michael:
This Universe, O Holiest One, is the garb of Your Spirit.
You Flared Forth, in all directions
Birthing and Blessing space and time,
With Fireworks beyond compare.
You clothed yourself in spiral galaxies
And set neutron stars in your crown of diamonds.

Darla:

Michael :
You are the Longing within the atoms for community,
The Urge within each molecule to declare its uniqueness,
The Knowing within each cell of its dignity.

Darla :
Tu es l’aspiration qui meut la communion des atomes;

Michael :
Your Spirit enfleshed the earth our Mother,
Giving birth from her oceans
carrying nutrients Her veins the rivers.
Feeding us from her soil

Darla :

Michael:
In the elements of fire, earth, water, air your love story unfolds.
Plants and animals, diverse peoples and cultures,
A church to proclaim your love, and for 85 years,
The United Church of Canada, joins your great parade.

Darla:

Michael : And so we say together a statement of our communal faith

Webvideo from Yellowknife

Darla: Come from all directions and from all seasons...

Webvideo from Northern Lights Presbytery

Michael: Let us worship.
ALL: Let us worship God!

Hymn: While silence and vastness enfolded the Breath,
And nothing and all floated pure and serene;
Then Wisdom - Word fluttered and beat as The One,
And Breath whispered out “Life and Love” upon all.

New atoms formed elements, planets and suns.
Blue waters fell; reeds opened vines and the trees.
The brown beetles, robins and caribou came.
Life flourished abundant on our ember star.

In fullness of God’s time, the human heart beat,
And built up great cities with knowledge and care;
But pride, greed and war, fear and hate grew there too;
So David was found and then Jesus revealed.

The suns and stars cool as the cosmos grows old.
As time ends and sacred beginnings return,
The silence and vastness may once more prevail,
But Wisdom-Word’s yearning will be Love fulfilled.

Invitation to the Table:

Great Thanksgiving (Based on Song of Faith/Notre Foi Chante)

Puisse Dieu être avec nous/May God be with us
Dieu est ici, parmi nous/God is here among us.
Ouvrons nos cœurs à Dieu/Let us open our hearts to God.
We open them to God and to one another/ À Dieu et les uns aux autres, nous les ouvrons.
Let us give thanks to God/ Rendons grâce à Dieu.
It is right to give our thanks and praise/ Il est bon d’offrir notre action de grâce et nos louanges.

Michael:
God of Holy Mystery,
beyond complete knowledge,
above perfect description, yet
in love,
the one eternal God who seeks relationship,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer
God, Christ, and Spirit
Mother, Friend, and Comforter
Source of Life, Living Word, and Bond of Love,
the One on whom our hearts rely,
the fully shared life at the heart of the universe.

Darla:

Michael:
And we rejoice in those you have called by name, before and among us, your great cloud of witnesses, a great parade winding through the ages, :
Jesus, Mary, Peter, Dorcus, Prisca, Lydia, Steven, Jerome, Origen, Pelagius, Benedict, Julian, Hildegard, Teresa, John Knox, The Wesley’s, William Wilberforce, Martin Luther Jr., Tommy Douglas, Oscar Romero, Nellie McClung, George Pidgeon, Lois Wilson, Sung Chul Lee, Stan McKay, and there's Nora Sanders, Mardi Tindal, Bishop Julio Murray and here we are all of us,

And so we join our names and voices with theirs and the creatures of all creation in heaven and on earth as we sing:

Sanctus: MV Kingsfold
Child (Gem Ayupan): Why do we eat bread at this table?

Darla:

Child: Why do we drink from the cup at this table?

Michael:
We also remember how that same night, Jesus took a cup,
and after giving thanks,
passed it to his friends, saying:
“Drink. This cup, poured out for you,
is the promise of God.
Whenever you drink it, remember me.”

Child: What do we remember at this table?

Darla:
Nous nous souvenons de la mort de Jésus et nous célébrons sa résurrection;
nous attendons avec espérance son retour qui apportera paix et justice sur la terre;

Acclamation: MV Kingsfold

Michael:
Send, O God, your Holy Spirit upon us and what we do here,
that we and these gifts, touched by your Spirit,
may be signs of life and love to one another,
and to the world.

Darla:

- pour le golfe du Mexique, pour toutes les populations et les créatures qui y vivent;
- pour la paix dans le monde;
- pour la guérison des personnes dans leur esprit comme dans leur corps;
- ô Dieu, guéris les malades,
Michael: - We pray for those whose voices cannot be heard
- For the United Church of Canada, its people, ministries and communities served
- For those people and situations we lift up to you now, in silence or in words

(silence)

God of Holy Mystery,
Through Christ, with Christ, and in Christ,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
all glory is yours, God most holy,
now and forever.

ALL: Amen.

FRACTION DU PAIN, TRANSVASEMENT DU VIN / FRACTION AND ELEVATION

PARTAGE DU PAIN ET DU VIN/SHARING THE BREAD AND WINE

PRIÈRE APRÈS LA COMMUNION / PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION

Darla :
Amen.

Hymn : Go to the World #420 - VU

Bénédiction :
Mardi : (in English et en français)
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
